Reflections of Israel: Sept 2023

Updated: Apr 11

The excitement was building as our team of more than 50 people gathered at JFK airport to begin our 11-day journey to Israel. After almost a year of planning, the anticipation of what awaits us upon landing in Tel Aviv filled our hearts with wonder for the fulfillment of the days ahead.

Although we incurred some flight delays and our team was exhausted upon arrival, our host and leader kept everyone's spirits up with encouraging words, prayer, and thoughts of the amazing sites we will experience as we study the Bible together in the land where the events occurred. After a good night's rest in our beautiful hotel on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, we boarded our luxury bus to begin this journey.

Each site did not disappoint! We visited Biblical sites where Jesus walked, taught, and ministered in the northern Galilee region. With our Bibles in our hands, we opened the scriptures while standing in the place we were reading about and experienced how God's Word came to life before our eyes. What an amazing blessing to experience places like Caesarea Maritima, Megiddo, Nazareth, Zippori, the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, Magdala, the Dead Sea, Jerusalem, and so many others.

The spiritual impact of this journey will last a lifetime as we reflect on all that we experienced during this 11-day journey. Nothing compares to praying at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, having communion at the Garden Tomb, reflecting on Jesus' prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, or sailing on the Sea of Galilee, just to name a few.

As a Christian believer, my walk with Jesus grew through this experience. I hope everyone reading this will consider a journey to Israel – perhaps even group travel to Israel with Travel Planners 4 U. It truly is an investment in your spiritual life.
